Hurling and Gaelic Football

Hurling Match, Croke Park, Dublin

Hurling (with sticks) and Gaelic Football are the new most popular sports in Ireland. Depending on the fixture list, you may have a chance to visit Ireland’s largest stadium Croke Park and watch one of these games

The sports are administered by the Gaelic Athletic Association and all the players are amateurs. You first play with your local club, and if you are good enough then you may be picked by your county team (eg. Dublin or Mayo), and if your county team is good you can win the prestigious All Ireland final involving the thirty-two counties of Ireland and also London and New York.
